DULCOTEST SurfaceGuard sensor for biofilm and scaling

Coating thickness measurement in the range of 0–200 µm
Response time: adjustable between 15 min and 2 h

DULCOTEST SurfaceGuard detects biofilms and inorganic deposits on process surfaces in real time. Its innovative heat transfer measurement principle detects even the thinnest layers in the micrometer range. This enables representative measurements as well as the targeted, timely, and efficient control of cleaning and dosing processes.

Product description

Reliable protection against biofilm and scaling through real-time monitoring

DULCOTEST SurfaceGuard is an innovative measurement system for real-time monitoring of deposits on process surfaces. The measurement system consists of a sensor and a transmitter that allows the sensor to be configured.

The innovative use of two sensors with differently configured surface temperatures enables a precise distinction between biofilms and inorganic deposits. This paves the way for targeted, automated, and needs-based measures such as the efficient dosing of biocides or antiscalants—for optimal process control and sustainable, low-chemical operation.

By emulating rheological and thermodynamic surface properties, DULCOTEST SurfaceGuard enables precise film thickness measurement of a wide variety of deposits across diverse industrial applications. This ensures representative monitoring of process surfaces—for maximum safety and efficiency.

This significantly extends maintenance intervals and noticeably reduces operating costs. Continuous measurement allows for seamless monitoring of process efficiency, such as heat transfer in heat exchangers, enabling performance losses to be detected early and their effects minimized.
